For sale is a very unique and rare example of ab authentic antique hand forged blacksmith made 1700s 18th century rotary fireplace trivet/hearth kettle stand with extravagant design features. The long handle turns into a curvy and mouth opening serpent snake figure near the rotation end. The handle also has Nice beaded design in the middle section and a unique rattail hook with an enlarged finale. The rotation top has great rosette design, with the motif of the sun. Likely an early Pennsylvania Dutch made folk art item. Each of the four tall legs contains highly decorative shaped outline and is connected to the handle with hand hammered rivet. The item is in good antique condition. All connections are hand hammered and remains secure. There is very little rust on this piece. Old original surface with fantastic patina. Age appropriate surface wears and imperfections are present. It sits nice and stable. No wobble. Please study the pictures carefully before committing to buy. Overall, this is an extraordinary example that showcases the 1700s Pennsylvanian Dutch blacksmith craftsmanship and folk art design.
