2 HP 1500 Watt Computer Controlled Servo Motor With in ternal  Speed Control Switch. Built to fit 2004 Smithy Granite model 1324 The 2022 models are here. I still need time to update photos. See images about control units soon Up date:  There are now 6 of these installed. Number one helped me design it The next two owners bolted it on and are very happy with the end result. The forth found the mounting bolts needed a little longer slot. We are updating the mount with longer slots. Note: The mount was never tested on a Smithy so minor grinding or slotting may be required. There are two belt drive versions of this machine: One uses a single belt to the spindle. The other has an intermediate shaft and 3 belts. See images of both versions. Image 6 is single speed. Image 7 is the 2 speed version Please specify which version you have so we can ship the correct belt/belts with your motor upgrade. Belt tension requires cutting out the back plate to increase motor/tensioner travel. See image 8 Lead time : There is a 5 day delay added to the ship date. This is so we can make sure and build it + ship it so that you receive it in the time allotment allowed. Likely that will be more like 3 days lead time but always better to meet promise times and with a few days to clear. Sold with a custom built matching control unit (the control unit in plastic housing as seen in image 1). This version would screw onto the underside of a cabinet just above the motor area of the smithy. Speed is programmable for any range between 300 to 3,500 RPM. See below for additional cost to include custom made aluminum control unit upgrade instead of plastic unit. Current motor mount design: Allows for motor to be installed upright and reversed. This allows for either control unit to be used during your install . please contact me for instructions if you wish to reverse. Current motor to control unit wiring : All motors sold for this system now have the longer wires between the control unit and the motor (2022 version released Oct 2021). This ads distance to mount the standard plastic housing version control unit further away from the machine. It also eases installation of the custom aluminum housing control unit upgrade. See images for measurements. Note: the maximum distance between control unit and motor is now 28" (was 22"). Custom builds with aluminum control unit require the longer wiring between motor and control unit. Runs on typical 110 to 120 volt AC household power supply's. Ask about 220/250V AC Includes (what is in the box): A complete servo motor as seen in images. A stand alone and programmable custom built servo motor driver with overload protection and internal speed control. Plastic version seen in image 1. A welded steel motor mount designed to fit the Smithy seen in images. Look close at images as some of these machines have a different mounting system. The specialty bolts required for the motor to the motor mount. The bolts required for the motor mount to the Smithy. The pulley comes installed on the motor and includes the 15mm to 3/4" adapter. All 3 v belts required to install it with both high and low speed functions. Motor programming  + spindle speeds and Reverse: The motor speed can be programmed to operate in any range chosen by the user. Between 300 and 3,500 RPM's. The full range of speed (RPM's) can also be controlled with just the speed control knob. Speed control programming only requires a few easy steps. Reverse is simple, just hold the yellow button for a few seconds. Programming includes the ability to set bottom and top RPM range separately. In other words you can program the system to run the spindle at any speed or range of speeds you choose (see below). Slowest speed achievable: Motor 300 RPM. (Below 400 is not recommended) . Highest speed: 3,500 RPM . (Can be programmed to reach 5,000 RPM. This is seriously not recommended. It is also dangerous as in parts could fly across the room causing serious bodily injury even death.) Setting above 3,500 RPM also voids warranty . Soft start is programmable and will be set as soft as possible when you receive this motor. This program is very effective in reducing drive belt wear etc. Braking strength is also programmable and will be set as low as possible. Personally I wish I could set it lower. Self diagnostics with fault code chart. Safe turn on system where the speed control knob must be in the full counter clockwise (stop) position when turned on. When turned on the self diagnostic system checks for faults and will not allow the motor to turn on until the speed control knob is turned all the way to stop first. Control unit has the ability to stop the motor or what ever it is turning in 2 different locations with external hall effect sensors not included. Use at your own risk. Note: Manufacturer recommended 500 to 3,000 RPMs My personal testing results: This motor runs best between 400 and 3,500 RPMs. Spindle speed results in the test Smithy Granite: Note: these are the original calculations. Our test machinist is now reporting he never needs to change belts as he has the full range needed with just one belt position. I will update this when I get more information but one thing is for sure; The first machinist to operate the system in the images is absolutely thrilled with how quiet it is and how well it now performs. Not to mention his machine never bogs down now. Estimated low speed gear ratio is motor display divided by 0.6: 300 RPM    =  50 at spindle. 400 RPM    =  67 at spindle. 500 RPM    =  84 at spindle. 700 RPM    = 117 at spindle. 900 RPM    = 150 at spindle. 1,200 = 200 RPM at spindle. 1,500 = 250 RPM at spindle. 1,800 = 300 RPM at spindle. 2,100 = 350 RPM at spindle. 2,400 = 400 RPM at spindle. 2,700 = 450 RPM at spindle. 3,000 = 500 RPM at spindle. 3,500 = 583 RPM at spindle. Estimated high speed is easy. It’s 2 to 1.  Divide the display by 2 1,000 = 500 RPM at spindle. 2,000 = 1,000 RPM at spindle. 3,000 = 1,500 RPM at spindle. 3,500 = 1,750 RPM at spindle.
