These Saw Horse Shoes are 3D-printed out of ASA plastic. I created the CAD design myself from the remains of a broken, original shoe. ASA is an ideal plastic for this application. It is minimally impacted by UV exposure and its glass transition point is ~100C. This means that its structural strength remains sound until its temperature exceeds this value (210degrees F).
I am now using these replacement shoes on my own saw horses, as I was unable to get shoe replacements from Harbor Freight (see images for a white plastic shoe installed).
I anticipate that I am not alone with the cracking OEM shoes on my saw horses, so I am making this option available to others. This will avoid the direct steel-to-concrete/dirt alternative once your shoes crack and fall off.
I recommend purchasing at least one spare. The shipping cost exceeds the price of the item, and I have added escalating volume discounts based on quantity purchased.
17JUL2023 Update --- In 2023 I purchased a significant 3D printer upgrade that is capable of printing high-temp plastics. Effective all shipments 18JULY2023 and beyond, all future prints will utilize ASA plastic (vs PETG). This should not be noticeable to the end user at all, as ASA is better than PETG in almost all regards (excluding cost). The description above has been updated to reflect this plastic change.
