MULTI-AXIS BELT-DRIVE GRINDER MANDREL w BALL THRUST BEARINGS vintage

     

 curious and very well built belt-drive Polisher/Grinder Mandrel with a double end tapered shaft [thicker in the middle] -- has bronze bushings for both shafts with the addition of two sets of ball thrust bearings under brass grease rings -- mounted on what appears to be a rotating base, and with the spring-loaded caps for the enclosed oilers, I'm guessing this was meant to operate in any position - multi-axis --
-- shaft is 1/2 in. at the threaded ends / 11 5/8 in. long --
  -- mostly moderate wear: scuffing / light rust patching - the two old thrust bearings each have a chipped part with a few ball bearings missing -- needs some work to function properly   --
