The Blue Diamond ET Series Air Pumps can be used for Aquariums, Ponds and certain Septic applications. Various specifications apply: The ET60 is a 55 watt pump that produces 60 liters per minute or 2.12 CFM at .15 bar Connection - plain horizontal 18.0 mm (.71") O.D. connection. Also supplied with thread-on barb 12.0 mm (.47") O.D. The pump outlet offers several options. The outside of the outlet is 3/4" O.D. and will accept 3/4" I.D. tubing. The outlet has a 1/2" FPT (female pipe thread) interior which accepts the included brass adapter which is 1/2" MPT on one end and a 1/2" barb fitting on the other end, which accepts 1/2" I.D. tubing. There is also a 3/4" I.D. rubber elbow included. The most common problem with this and other large air pumps is premature tearing of the diaphragms because of excessive back pressure. People don't tend to understand how much air the large sized pumps produce. If an air pump is powering too small of a diffuser or too few outlets, excessive pressure can occur. The solution is to add a tee with a ball valve so that excessive air can be bled off into the atmosphere. Start with the ball valve open and slowly close it until you have the maximum output from your air diffusers without unnecessary back pressure.
