- Replaces Pt # A17572, N021229 , N021725
1. Drain air tanks, see compressor’s instruction manual for correct procedrue.
2. Remove head bolts (A). Save for future use.
3. Remove head (B) and valve plate (C).
4. Remove screw (D) attaching connecting rod (E). Save for future use.
5. Carefully pry connecting rod from flywheel boss.
6. Remove connecting rod (E) and cylinder sleeve (F) through the top of the end bell.
7. Place new connecting rod and cylinder sleeve through top of end bell with cylinder sleeve hole (G) showing.
8. Slide connecting rod bearing (H) over flywheel boss.
9. Secure connecting rod to flywheel boss with screw (D) removed earlier. Torque to 100-120 ft.-lbs.
10. Push cylinder sleeve down against end bell.
11. Replace O-rings on valve plate, if needed.
12. Place valve plate (C) over cylinder sleeve, making sure O-ring is in place.
13. Place head (B) over valve palte (C), making sure O-ring is in good condition and in the proper place.
14. Install head bolts (A) tighten in a criss-cross pattem and torque to 7-10 ft.-lbs.
