The D8 from Van Air Systems is a deliquescent compressed air dryer for 50 CFM. It's designed for any air system using a 10 - 15 horsepower air compressor. The dryer has no moving parts or power requirement, which makes it perfect for tough operating environments, intermittent flow air systems, point of use applications, mobile equipment, and areas with electrical restrictions. The D8 is similarly ideal for outdoor applications. How the D8 works. The D8 dryer is an epoxy lined tank filled with Dry-O-Lite desiccant tablets. These tablets act like sponges for humidity and soak up water vapor. Wet compressed air enters the bottom of the D8 and flows up through the Dry-O-Lite, which gradually dissolves. The dissolved Dry-O-Lite and water collect at the bottom of the tank to be drained. Dry compressed air exits the top of the tank. An F200-55 or equivalent after-filter should be installed to remove oil mist and particulates. Clean dry air is now ready for use. Installation. Bolt to a wall or structural support. Add Dry-O-Lite. Connect air lines. Maintenance. Drain liquid after each 8 hours of operation. A manual ball valve is included. Pro tip: use flexible tubing to collect the liquid in a container. Consider installing a MDV-400 automatic drain with a 1/2" valve. Every 2-3 months inspect the Dry-O-Lite level by looking thru the sight glass on the side of the tank.
