230mm Long Auger Wood Drill Bits Joiner Carpenter Fast Cut 6mm To 35mm Hex Shank Softwood Hardwood Self-feedingCompare With Forstner Bit Auger bits have a number of advantages over Forstner bits in cutting the round mortises, as one can cut slowly, or even use hand braces and the center threaded spur can be carefully controlled for accurate results especially when starting the hole. 20 times re-Sharpenable The bit can be re-sharpened up to 20 times for a long useful service life. Large Spiral Groove The large spiral groove offers optimal chip clearing and low friction, and minimizes the chance of clogging or jamming in the hole. Heat Treatment JIS G4051 These bits are made of carbon steel with a hardness of 55HRC, made according to Japanese industry standard JIS G4051. The heat treatment is made through induction hardening as commonly used for drill bits made in Japan. With this hardening process the inside of the drill remains soft and thus the bit is more difficult to break. With these bits you buy Japanese industrial quality at a very low price. Application: These auger bits are designed for use with all kinds of softwoods and European hardwoods like beech and oak. They do not work well with the various kinds of very hard tropical woods. Speed depends on the material of the workpiece and the diameter of the bit. If you are not sure, prefer the lower speed. In hardwood the speed should be generally slower than in softwood. Bits less than 10 mm you can run more than 1000 rpm, up to 20 mm reduce to 800 rpm and bits more than 20 mm should not be runned more than 400 rpm. Find the best speed by yourself! You can increase the speed of the bits once you have more experience and feel about the material. Note: 1.This is especially important when using an electric drill. The bits should often be pulled back in (not out of) with the drill running to “air” the bit. This aids in clearing chips, which can tend to clog up in the bit and cause overheating, and allows the bit to cool off in use. 2.Use either a correctly-sized hand brace or a an electric drill. 3.When using an electric drill, one must be careful not to overheat the bit and to frequently "air" the bit and free the threads of any shavings by turning the machine in reverse and pulling it out of the work piece. 3.Pulling the bit out with the center screw still holding in the wood can damage or break the point! Use only light pressure with these bits! Do not use a drill press! 15-100mm Forstner Bit Drill Set Woodworking Saw Cutter Boring Hole Carbide Tip 7.99 USD Free shipping M35 Cobalt Step Drill Bit 4-12/4-20/4-32mm Spiral Groove Hex Shank for Hole Open 9.29 USD Free shipping Mini Electric Hand Drill USB Jewelry Drill Set DIY Jewelry Craft Making Tools 12.99 USD Free shipping M3-M10 Sprial Tap Bit Set 1/4'' Hex Shank Thread Cutter Countersink Metric US 7.79 USD Free shipping 30-125mm CORE DRILL BIT SDS PLUS HEX TCT Masonry Brick Hole Cutter Drilling b 8.79 USD Free shipping 102Pcs 0.5-3.0mm Mini Micro HSS Twist Drill Bits Set Hand Craft Wood Rotary Tool 10.19 USD Free shipping
