Rigid Cordless Vaccum ReviewI bought this for vacuuming our small screened in back porch, as I am handicapped, quadriplegic. I cannot manage one with cords as I cannot plug things in. It takes 30-40 minutes for me to vaccum the porch, carpet deck and corners. I go through 1.5 - 4Ah batteries. It does a great job, don't get me wrong, BUT at $99 - $109; you are getting a Rigid motor with hose, hose tips and bottom level filter.You'll find if using it in any living area, you'll want a hepa level filter ( $25). Then if you need longer vacuuming time you'll buy two 4Ah batteries if you don't have those ( $169)So if new to Rigid 18v cordless tools, this vaccum $109 $24 $169 = $302 before taxes or shipping. I would have given 5 stars, but cons and having to buy larger capacity batteries for those without make it an expensive proposition. I STRONGLY URGE you register online any battery (or ANY Rigid tool) purchase to get their LIFE TIME warranty. If they fail they'll replace for FREE..PROSPowerful suction, increased when using vaccum tip as volume of suction is isolated to aa smaller opening.BIG on/off button!Lightweight in and off itself or if using 2Ah, weight increases depending upon your battery used.Easy access to and for changing the battery. Although the battery compartment takes two hands to open, great for arthritic people, but a challenge for someone with limited use or strength of hands.CONSTwo handed battery compartment latche, should be one or none. No other cordless tool has batteries hidden behind a cover. Battery life is short, especially if you use 2Ah battery. Use at minimum 4Ah and have a spare. If you can accept its limitations, this vacuum is perfect.The main limitation, of course, is battery life. I use the 4Ah batteries and rarely need another before I'm done vacuuming, but if you need to spend more than 5 or 10 minutes vacuuming each time, you'll be better off with a corded shop-vac.I, however, only spend a couple of minutes vacuuming up piles of stuff off my garage floor or in the car so this vacuum is perfect (nearly perfect). Pros:PowerfulGood battery life for the powerPortable Cons:The battery door broke a plastic hinge and now fits a bit weird, but it still closes and stays closed.The clasps on the side that hold the top half to the bottom half are frustrating. They hang down and get caught up when I'm trying to take it apart or put it back together. This should be redesigned.The sides of the bottom half are too close to the filter edges so dust and dirt falls out as I'm taking the halves apart to empty it. So much so, that I usually have to vacuum that stuff back up after I reassemble the vacuum. I get that the design is for compactness, and that is certainly the case, so I just take my lumps there. Overall, this is a great vacuum for everything I do. I even gave away my big shop-vac and have never looked back. VERY PORTABLE 7 Sep 21

I needed a vacuum for my tractors and boats which would allow me to quickly and thoroughly clean them wherever they were.. After scrutinizing reviews, I bought the Ridgid. It is a powerhouse, and it reveals that the designers focus on what's important. It makes quick work of heavy dirt and debris, including sloppy mud. I found out how tough it was after I knocked it off my truck's engine compartment and onto the concrete garage floor. All it showed was a tiny scuff on the top's corner. The 7' stretch hose is much nicer than that of my corded shop vacs, and is a great feature for any vac in that price range. Had this vac for about a month and just love it. For those small jobs around the house it is perfect. It's powerful enough to handle most any job and the battery life is decent. Had to replace a sprinkle and used it to remove water for the hole making the repair easier and faster. Once you get this you will find all kinds of situations to use this great product. I got this about 3 weeks ago and have used it to vacuum my truck out and at work to clean up concrete dust and it works awesome! It’s size is perfect and I made a shelf for it in my work van. I have two issues with it. 1- the clips that hold the battery door are crap. Mine broke within the first week of having it. 2- it would be nice if there was some sort of storage for the attachments.
